Today (Saturday) has been a very good, and very full day — that has resulted in eight new brothers and sisters in Christ. What wonderful, loving people are here working in this place.
We awoke at 5am in our room to the sound of playing as the kids were already up and having fun outside. We had singing after breakfast. Next, Sam gave a devotional message encouraging the young people to have a genuine and active faith — and he encouraged those who had not decided to obey the Gospel to do so. This time was followed by organized games. Sam led the older children, and Amelia and Maddy led the younger ones with Paula assisting. After that we broke out into the same groups as the previous night. Clint addressed the college and young professionals. Following lunch, there was more singing, organized games, and classes by age group.
By three o’clock, eight young people from 13 to 20 years old had decided they wanted to be Christians. They had been in a separate class as a group to teach them about Christ and the Gospel, taught by some of the preachers here in their native dialect. We headed down to the river, and they we’re immersed into Christ. Chris was asked to speak a few words about the importance of their decision. What a blessing and a joy to witness the events of today.
We closed with more singing, some encouraging words from some brothers and I was honored to be able to close us out in prayer. Then, we began our goodbyes as the different groups from the ten congregations represented began their journey home little by little.
Thank you again for allowing us to be part of this day, and every activity we have been so blessed to participate in this past week. Please continue to pray for the upcoming days to be fruitful until it is time to depart from home at the end of this week.
